This is a truly authentic experience in a small village in the mountains of Crete where the inhabitants engage in agriculture and livestock. The climate and its unspoiled springs help to fertilize many plantations, offering unaltered goods such as chestnuts, apples, cherries and many other fruits and vegetables depending on the season.
Somewhere in the middle of these hills is nested Elenis' family restaurant, which has been operating for over a hundred years, passed on from generation to generation. In this picturesque location that is an extension of their farm, they offer unique gastronomic experiences as they cook with pure and seasonal ingredients from their land.
Eleni will welcome us and walk with us to the ancient hill vineyard where the view is stunning! While exploring, she explains the process of vineyard care, the stages of wine and raki production and any other questions we may have. We continue the walk, through olive groves and chestnut trees, to arrive at the restaurant. There we will discover the rich and diverse Cretan cuisine, by tasting different flavours, understand what's on our plate, appreciate the true taste of a meal.
