Overview

Enjoy an unforgettable experience, hiking & canoeing in Lake Tsivlou. The total duration of the activity is 4 hours, starting from Peristera & ending at Lake Tsivlou, where the adventure goes on with canoeing in the beautiful alpine lake Tsivlou.

Our hike starts from the mountain village of Peristera, which is located at 1060m altitude on the slopes of Aronia, near the Kalavryta Ski Centre.

We start by crossing the mountain between its reddish slopes, gazing at a green view and landscapes that remain alive thanks to the agricultural life of the area.

We continue the downhill route, reaching the crossroads of the Provincial Road, Akrata - Zarouchla, heading towards Akrata. There, we enjoy the maze-like mountain slopes and the majestic fir trees that follow us for several kilometers along the way. We almost pass through the small and scenic village of Agridi, cooling off with the water running from its springs.

We continue for the last 6km until we reach the second entry to Lake Tsivlou.

We enter the trail on the gravel part of the route until we meet the base of Trekking Hellas Achaea. There, the guide informs us fully about our safety, and we start paddling with him as a guide, enjoying the peaceful and beautiful Lake Tsivlou.

Lake Tsivlou is considered the youngest natural lake in Europe.

You can combine this activity in combination with a stay in Kalavryta at the beautiful Orias Guesthouse and Farm. Enjoy unique hospitality in spacious rooms overlooking Helmos and delicious meals with organic food directly from the farm.

Trekking Hellas offers a variety of activities in Kalavryta and the Peloponnese, such as the Vouraikos Cog Railway Hike or the Off Road Tour to Mount Helmos. Nearby Kalavryta in the Arcadia region, you can enjoy rafting and hiking in the gorge of Lousios. Our tours can be incorporated into our multi-day adventures, such as our Active and Cultural Peloponnese Tour.
