Upon arrival in Delphi, our guide will drive you from Delphi to Livadi plateau at an altitude of 1200 m where we will start our tour. This is a historic and inspiring hike dropping down from the slopes of Mt Parnassus to the village of Delphi. It is the ancient footpath that took Pan’s worshipers up from the ancient temples of Delphi to the Corycean Grotto to celebrate rites, and it is part of the E4 European trail. Following the ancient path in a forested route, we descend to Delphi sanctuary overlooking the olive trees valley and the Corinthian Gulf, whilst the mountains of the Peloponnese complete our picturesque scenery. This hike combines the magic of nature with the mystery of ancient temples. Finishing our hike we will have a traditional homemade “Greek “ picnic. Our tour will end early in the afternoon so you have time to visit the archaeological site and museum.
Our guide will drive you from Delphi to the Mt Parnassus ski resort (Altitude 1650 to 2250 m). In the areas of Kelaria and Fterolaka, Parnassus Ski Center operates from December to end of April. The Ski Center has 19 ski runs, 7 ski routes, 10 trails and 3 mini beginner runs, total length 36km. The length of runs starts from 50m to 4km for beginners, average and good skiers. For adventure lovers, there are 12 black country runs with really deep snow and lots of adrenaline! When the weather is good there are some ski routes from which you can see the sea. Alternately, if you prefer snowshoes hiking we can propose you to climb up Gerondovrachos summit that in Greek means “the old man’s rock” with an exceptional 360 degrees view on the surrounding mountains and the Corinthian Gulf.
The tour ends in the afternoon, so feel free to ask your guide for tips and suggestions if you will be staying longer in the area.
