Greece in a Nutshell (Athens, Sailing & Santorini)
This is a program addressed to people visiting Greece for the first time. From our experience, we have concluded that the most wanted highlights for the first time to Greece active enthusiasts are a visit to Athens & Santorini plus an island hopping tour to the islands. As our philosophy is to design unique programs and to show to visitors the more authentic and less touristy side of Greece, we have designed this trip which covers in a short period of time the above-mentioned highlights. It is ideal for families, couples and mini groups and includes visits to the important historic sites, activities that will take you to places away from the crowds and a great sailing trip to the tiny and very authentic small Cyclades islands, a paradise for swimming and experiencing what Greece is all about!

After breakfast, go on a morning walking tour of Athens. Explore the Acropolis, the vantage point that offered protections of the ancient city-state and the center of ancient Athenian religious and commercial life and the New Acropolis Museum. We continue our walk passing by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch and Panathinaiko Stadium, the venue for the first Olympic Games. Our tour ends at the Constitution Square, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier and the House of Parliament, which was the royal palace until 1935.
Afternoon transfer to the port of Piraeus and ferry to Naxos. Trip duration:17.35-23.30
Naxos, the biggest of the Cyclades Islands with imposing mountain massifs and fertile valleys, is inhabited by cheerful people with a tradition in music and dance, and full of beauty that enchants visitors.
With its long history (Ariadne of Naxos, by Richard Strauss) important monuments, hidden niches to discover, sandy beaches, towers and forts, ancient temples and great villages you can easily spend a week exploring this magic place. Naxos is also renowned for its great potatoes and Naxian gruyere cheese which you will have the chance to taste in delicious recipes that you will taste. Overnight in Naxos.
Our joyful crew will welcome you in the marina of Naxos and as soon as you settle let’s set sail! Our destination is Pano Koufonissi. This island is very famous for its postcard beaches, white sand, and turquoise waters. We will spend the night there, in the port, at a walking distance of the best taverns and bars. On our way, we will enjoy a swimming stop to Kato Koufonissi, an uninhabited island with beautiful swimming-pool-like bays.
After we wake up and enjoy our breakfast in the serenity of the Aegean sea, we set off to Schinoussa, a beautiful island known to be a great place for superyachts to hide from the press. The island is also famous for its food. On our way, we will drop the anchor in Rina bay, on the south coast of Naxos to see a beautiful cave and swim, snorkel and explore. We will spend the night at Schinoussa’s port, not far from the main town (100 inhabitants).
We will set sail to Iraklia, another beautiful island of the archipelago to explore. We will drop the anchor in a bay accessible only by boat in a protected area where an airplane wreck is lying by 6 meters depth. Unbelievable swimming there! After lunch, we will set sail back to Naxos.
Today we will catch the morning ferry to Santorini which was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions of all time. Here everything is brighter: the whitewashed cube-shaped houses, the lapis lazuli sea and the sunsets that light up the caldera. After settling in our hotel, we will hike towards picturesque Oia, the most beautiful village of the island if not the whole Aegean sea. The cobblestone trail follows the rim of the Caldera, taking you away from the crowds, permitting you to admire the power of the natural forces that shaped this amazing environment. Overnight Santorini
Dorians, Venetians, and Turks occupied Santorini, but its most influential early inhabitants were Minoans. They came from Crete sometime between 2000 BC and 1600 BC and the settlement of Akrotiri, dubbed as the Greek Pompeii, dates from the peak years of their civilization. Alongside with a guide, you will have the opportunity to walk along the streets and squares of the city, which was buried in volcanic ash after the eruption of the volcano and frozen in time. Finishing the walk it is time for kayaking. We will explore the south side of the island as few people do. Seeing Santorini from the sea level is a real treat, plus paddling gives your upper body a bit of exercise. We will paddle by the Red and White beach with stops on the way for swimming and snorkeling.
Transfer to Santorini airport and flight to Athens.
