Come join us in a unique culinary experience getting to know the culture of mountain villages through gastronomy. The vine plant is cherished by the Greeks since ancient times. Together with your expert guide, discover all about local grape varieties wines, specialties using vine leaves, raisins and grape must.
The tour takes place Mount Parnassos in the traditional stone-made village of Arachova. First, you will have a short walking tour through the village to see the traditional market and the architecture of the old houses. As you will be in the heart of Arachova, you will visit the old clock tower with the most 360 degrees breathtaking view of the valley!
Your short walking tour will end in a picturesque little garden in the beautiful alleys of Arachova with herbs and vegetables growing. There you will have the opportunity to taste local shepherd cheeses. Arachova was always a shepherd village and is famous all over Greece for the quality of its feta! You will accompany your tasting with wines and spirits, learn about the Greek Grapa:” Tsipouro” and the authentic local grape varieties.
The highlight of the tour will be a personal cooking class. You expert guide will share with you the secrets of making the famous Greek Dolmadakia (stuffed rolled vine leaves) or as some say “the Greek sushi”. In Arachova Dolmadakia or Sarmadakia, as called by locals, are traditionally the most festive dish you could offer to your guests for a special occasion!
