A dream valley in Greece
Valia Calda (otherwise "hot valley") is located in a rather inaccessible area of Pindos mountain range, between the prefectures of Grevena and Ioannina. The National Park includes the valley of Valia Calda and Arkoudorema as well as the mountains Lygkos and Mavrovouni. Its name originates from the words "warm valley" although it is covered by snow 7 months a year. It is endowed with an impressive nature. With its dense beech forests and characteristic black pine trees, steep cliffs and torrents, this area offers unforgettable experiences to its visitors. A remarkable habitat for many plants, birds and animals and one of the last brown bear shelters in Greece. Trekking Hellas designs and implements unique programs in the national park for nature and action lovers.
