Canoe-Kayak at Lake Ilarion – Aliakmonas

Lake Ilariona is one of the newest artificial lakes in the country, formed after the construction of the hydroelectric dam. It is an important wetland for many species of birds and animals, while the green slopes around it create a sense of peace. Paddling through its narrow passages resembles a fjord, with steep cliffs and rich vegetation reflected in the calm waters.

A unique canoe-kayak experience on Lake Aliakmona, starting from Panagia Tournikiou and ending at the hermitage of Agios Nikanoras. Along the way, you will see the hermitage of Agios Georgios and the Moni Osiou Nikanora in Zavorda (Grevena), an important religious and cultural monument of Western Makedonia.
