Overview

The hike starts from the impressive Gouverneto Monastery and follows wild limestone trails to the ruins of Katholiko Monastery, built into the rock.

Along the way, you will visit the legendary Arkoudiotissa Cave (“Bear Cave”), a historic site of centuries-old asceticism.

After the hike, you continue to Agia Triada Monastery for a private wine tasting, accompanied by a professional sommelier, sampling selected Cretan varieties paired with local products.

This experience combines history, nature, and gastronomy in a half-day program, ideal for those seeking an authentic experience in Crete.

Your tour leader selects the safest routes, assists on technical sections, and ensures the group’s pace and safety.
