Discover a beautiful hiking route on Mount Helmos, starting from the town of Kalavryta and following the European E4 trail for about 7 km to the area of Valvousi. From there, the route leaves the E4 and continues east towards Xirokambos and the Helmos Ski Center.
The trail is well maintained, with clear markings and signposts along the way, making it easy and enjoyable to follow. Once used by locals to travel on foot between Kalavryta and Xirokambos, today it offers a great way to experience the mountain in an authentic way.
As you hike, the scenery shifts between fir forests, lush vegetation and open stretches with views over Kalavryta, creating a varied and rewarding experience in nature. At the end of the hike, a transfer is provided for your return.
The route can also be done in reverse, starting from the Helmos Ski Center and heading down to Kalavryta, which makes for an easier, mostly downhill hike.
