The Samaria National Park, located in the White Mountains of Crete, holds significant recognition as it is included in UNESCO's "Biosphere Reserves" list and is also part of the European Path E4. Boasting the title of the largest gorge in Greece and the second largest in all of Europe, it stands as an impressive natural wonder.
Each year, the park draws in large crowds of visitors, with its opening season commencing in May and running until the end of October. The main attraction is the 16 km long trail that begins from the top of the gorge and meanders through towering cliffs, offering great views and showcasing the unique Cretan flora and fauna. This scenic path culminates at the Libyan Sea in the charming town of Agia Roumeli.
Of particular interest is the narrowest and most awe-inspiring section of the gorge, aptly named "The Gates," where the gorge's width narrows down to a mere 3 meters.
Our exciting journey begins in the lobby of your hotel, where we will meet you and set off on a wonderful route leading to the Omalos plateau. The route itself is a sight to behold, as we pass through lush green slopes and fragrant orange groves.
