Just west of Dion lies Orlias Stream, one of Olympus’s main waterways, flowing year-round through lush nature and ancient myth. Legend has it that Orlias, ashamed to cleanse the Maenads after the death of Orpheus, disappeared underground—only to re-emerge near Dion, where it now forms a series of enchanting waterfalls.
Our adventure begins about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Thessaloniki, hiking along the streambed on a beautiful trail where crystal-clear water accompanies us throughout the route.
Our highlight? The iconic “Red Rock” waterfall, one of Olympus’s most stunning waterfalls at 18 meters tall! Take a refreshing dip in its cool waters or simply enjoy the tranquility of this magical spot.
We return via the same scenic path and enjoy a last splash in Orlias before heading to the charming town of Litochoro for a leisurely stroll and free time.
A unique day of hiking, history, and natural beauty in the heart of Mount Olympus!
