Active Family Lake Plastira

Lake Plastira retains unique natural beauty all year round. The alpine mountain peaks of Agrafa, the beautiful lacework of fjords and scattered small islands create a truly idyllic landscape. What better way to explore and visit the islands and fjords of the green-blue lake than by Canoe Kayak or Hydrobike. Either boat ride offer wonderful images and experiences and is suitable for everyone!

This is a 2.5-hour circular route of low to moderate difficulty with a unique panoramic view of the lake and the Thessalian Agrafa. Our ascent starts from the Agrafa shelter (1.536 m), going uphill through the forest area, where we leave the fir trees behind us and continue in a green alpine landscape overlooking the Thessalian plain. The uphill trail takes about 90' to the summit (1,805m). We continue crossing the 4 consecutive peaks of the mountain until we start to descend from the western side, enjoying a different view towards the steep peaks of Agrafa. After about 60 minutes we reach the forest road that leads us back to the shelter. A beautiful route for the whole family!

Mountain biking is an ideal way to navigate the lakeside cycle path, forest roads and trails surrounding Lake Plastira. The morphology of the peaks of Agrafa combined with the lush green fir forest around the lake offers unique images throughout the ride.
