After a warm welcome and a good rest get ready for 2 days of active discoveries. The first day we will enjoy a hike in the 20Km long Vouraikos Gorge, part of the Chelmos-Vouraikos National Park, renowned for its lush vegetation and incredible natural diversity! Our return back to our base will be very exciting as we will be embarking for a ride on the “Odondotos” Rack Railway climbing our way up to Kalavrita. The ride is so beautiful, as the funicular passes through the impressive Vouraikos Gorge, that it has been described as “the most spectacular rail route” of the Balkan area. On our second day of adventure we drive to the magnificently bluish green Lake Tsivlou at an altitude of 700 meters which we explore on our kayaks.

In northern Peloponnese, between Mount Chelmos and the eastern extensions of Mount Panachaiko lies one of Greece’s best kept secrets. The Vouraikos Gorge! An impressive 20-kilometer-long gorge formed after millions of years by the River Vouraikos. It is part of the Chelmos-Vouraikos National Park thanks to its lush vegetation and incredible natural diversity! Waterfalls, beautiful caves, swift crystal-clear streams, cool springs and impressive rocky cliffs, make this route an unforgettable experience! The trail we follow cuts through the protected area and is part of the long distance E4 European Trail.
During our 4-hour hike, we walk along the tracks of the most impressive attraction of this area: the “Odondotos” Rack Railway. Built in 1896 in order to connect the towns of Diakopto and Kalavrita, it has become an indispensable part of the area! It is often described as the most “spectacular rail route” of the Balkan area. Starting our hike from Zachlorou village we will have the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking scenery and walk through this wonderful nature reserve until we reach Niamata. From here we will hop on the famous Odondotos Rack Railway and ride back to Kalavrita taking in the stunning views along the route! This is a relatively easy hike, suitable for hikers from 10 to 70 years old! Get ready for an unforgettable experience hiking Vouraikos Gorge!
Kayak Lake Tsivlou is a 3 hour day activity in a beautiful alpine lake. An exciting paddling day, among green scenery and tranquility at an altitude of 700 m on the mountain range of Chelmos.
Lake Tsivlou, was created in 1913 by a landslide between the villages of Sylivena & Τsivlos. The lake is very deep and is fed by underground sources and forest streams. Lake Tsivlou is considered to be one of the youngest natural lake in Europe. It is surrounded by lush pine forest making it an ideal spot for light hiking, water activities and picnics.
Our Kayak Lake Tsivlou tour, starts with us meeting at our designated point at the lake. After all necessary preparations and safety briefing, we hop on our canoes and start off by practicing in the water! Our guides will paddle with us circumnavigating the lake, and depending on the group (families, adults etc) they will adapt the experience with racing, fun games etc coming up with a great mountain experience.
