Mt. Olympus Fast & High: 2-Day Hike from Christakis Refuge to Mytikas Summit (2,918 m)

Our adventure begins in Kalyvia, Elassona, where we board 4x4 vehicles for a scenic mountain drive to Christakis Mountain Shelter, located at approximately 2,400 meters.

After preparing our gear, we set off towards the highest peaks of Mount Olympus. Our route takes us through the Skolio Pass (2,830 m) and continues to the spectacular Kakoskala (2,866 m), with breathtaking views of Megala Kazania, one of the mountain’s most amazing landscapes.

Equipped with the necessary safety gear, we take on the most exciting part of the day, the final ascent to Mytikas (2,918 m), the highest peak in Greece.

After making our way back down, we return to Christakis Mountain Shelter for an overnight stay, either in tents or inside the shelter, enjoying the unique experience of spending a night high up in the mountains.

On the second day, after breakfast and packing up our gear, we hop back into the 4x4 vehicles for a short drive to our next starting point. From there, we set off on a short hike to Flambouro Peak.

Located on the northwestern side of Mount Olympus, the summit offers stunning views of the mountain’s northern peaks, Megala Kazania and the surrounding alpine landscape.
