Hiking to the Fairies Cave (Neraidospilia)

You will visit the most fabulous and impressive cave of Mt. Parnassos, the Fairies Cave (Neraidospilia)! It is a cave with 3 chambers, natural pools, stalagmites, stalactites!

The cave is located on the northern side of the mountain near the village of Variani. The Fairies Cave – Hiking excursion starts at Livadi Arachova, you meet with your own vehicle and follow your local experienced guide for about 1 hour on a dirt road until you reach the forest path that leads to the cave.

Your route passes through the greenest fir tree forest area of the mountain! After leaving your vehicles, you will hike for about 1 hour enjoying the amazing view towards the valley. The entrance of the cave is located on steep rocks of moderate difficulty. To get through the difficult parts, your guide will secure you with the necessary equipment. In the spring when the cave still holds enough water, the brave can walk in the frozen water and visit 2 rooms! The stalagmites, stalactites and natural pools of water compose a fairytale setting, in which one can easily imagine the fairies enjoying their bath while singing.
