The Kounoupitsa Waterfall is located in the beautiful Isio Pefko Gorge (Ramno Bor), near Ano Loutraki Aridaias and the famous Pozar Thermal Baths. Three streams meet in the gorge: Isio Pefko, Louta, and Kounoupitsa. The waterfall stands 12 meters high and amazes visitors with its strong water flow.
Our adventure begins at the thermal baths’ parking lot, where we’ll start our hike. The first part of the route is a challenging uphill climb lasting about 40 minutes. The path winds through low vegetation and trees, offering views of the Agios Nikolaos stream. As we continue, the landscape shifts to open meadows and a forest road leading to a small lookout and a characteristic kiosk.
From there, we’ll descend through a lush forested path toward the river. This segment takes about 50 minutes, and as we get closer, the sound of the waterfall grows louder. After a short hike alongside the stream (around 15 minutes), the waterfall comes into view, creating a breathtaking sight. We’ll pause here to enjoy the view and relax by the crystal-clear waters.
The return trip follows the same path back to the baths, where you’ll have free time to soak in the warm thermal waters. For those seeking a different option, we can arrange transport to Loutraki for free time to explore.
