White-water rafting in the gorge of Alfeios! Group action and fun in one of the most beautiful rivers in Greece. We meet at our base, in the village of Maratha. Our team will welcome you, and provide you with neopren suits and safety equipment to change in. You will then enter our bus, taking you to the starting point. A brief introductory lesson on paddling and safety will be given by your guide and ..let the fun begin!
Our starting point in the river is just before the bridge of Atsicholos. During the ride, we enjoy a fairytale natural environment full of lush vegetation and gurgling waters. The first part of our route ends at the historic stone bridge of Koukos. Here, we can make a stop and walk to the impressive waterfall of Vrontos, a hike of about 10 minutes.
The second part of our route starts from the bridge of Koukos and passes through the impressive gorge of Alfeios with an exciting 4th degree passage. The total route is about 15 kilometers long. Scattered rocks in the river create passages of 2nd and 3rd degree for some extra fun and adrenaline rush. Our route ends below the village of Palaiokastro, where we will get on our bus to return to the village of Maratha.
