We start from Souli Watermills at 200 m, where we get a closer look at the traditional use of water-powered mills and grinding stones once used to process grains. After enjoying fresh water from the spring above the historic mill, we begin our hike, following the trail into the gorge.
The route is gently downhill, leading us through the Tsagkariotiko stream gorge to the Dala mill and eventually into the impressive Acheron Gorge. In some narrow sections, the experience becomes more immersive, with river crossings and short swimming passages.
Acheron Gorge stands out for its striking limestone formations, crystal clear waters and lush vegetation, with tall trees and natural springs of drinkable water along the way. Throughout the route, you may spot fish swimming upstream, adding to the sense of a vibrant natural environment.
This experience combines hiking, swimming and exploration in one of the most remarkable landscapes of Epirus, ending in Glyki by the river. The activity begins from the same point, where we leave our vehicles and transfer with a Trekking Hellas vehicle to the starting point of the trail.
