Winter ascent of Kaimaktsalan 2,524 m (Voras)

A one-day trip to Mount Voras (Kaimaktsalan) is a unique opportunity to get close to nature and experience the mountain up close. Starting from the ski resort at Mount Voras Kaimaktsalan, we follow the trail toward the summit, moving through the area’s characteristic alpine landscape. As we climb, the surroundings open up with fresh air, wide views, and a real sense of being in the mountains.

Our goal is to reach the summit, Prophet Elias Kaimaktsalan, the highest point of the mountain. At the top, we find the small Prophet Elias chapel, a spot with historical and symbolic significance. Here, we have time to rest, take photos, and enjoy the view, fully experiencing the feeling of being surrounded by nature.

After returning to the ski center, the trip continues with a visit to the traditional village of Palios Agios Athanasios. The village is known for its stone houses and warm, mountain atmosphere. We’ll have free time for a meal, a coffee, and a stroll through the charming streets while relaxing and experiencing local Macedonian hospitality.

This trip combines hiking, time in nature, and moments of relaxation in one of Greece’s most beautiful mountain destinations. It’s a perfect escape from everyday life, giving you the chance to enjoy the outdoors and create lasting memories through a full and enjoyable mountain adventure.
