The Trekking Hellas Group of Companies, Greece’s leading provider of outdoor activities and alternative tourism, successfully concluded its 28th Annual Meeting, which took place in Kalambaka from February 12 to 14, 2025.
With the generous support of Trekking Hellas West Thessaly and a shared passion for adventure, love for nature, and a strong emphasis on sustainable tourism development and environmental protection, 150 Trekking Hellas members and external partners participated in a three-day program in Meteora. They explored its natural and cultural heritage while upholding the core principle of supporting and promoting local communities.
Day 1 – Wednesday, February 12, 2025: Connection & Collaboration
The event began at the Labor Center of the Municipality of Meteora, where the heads of 20 Trekking Hellas bases presented their annual results and exchanged ideas on sustainable growth strategies and future initiatives.
In the afternoon, at the "Nitsa Liapi" hall, Stefanos Sidiropoulos, CEO of Trekking Hellas, and Romanos Samouris, owner of Trekking Hellas West Thessaly, warmly welcomed us. During the event, the Best Tour Guide Award was presented, along with special recognition for top guides from the Parnitha, Santorini, Rhodes, and Lefkada bases, with the Best Travel Guide Award standing out.
We also had the pleasure of hearing from Penelope Magkoura, Deputy Mayor of Tourism & Sports of the Municipality of Meteora, and Nikolaos Theodorou, President of the Mountaineering Club of Kalambaka.
The evening concluded with an interactive trivia game about Trekking Hellas’ long history. The winners received prizes from The North Face, offered by Trekking Hellas Achaea, and POLO Center.
Day 2 – Thursday, February 13, 2025: Hiking & Nature
The second day was dedicated to exploring the stunning landscapes of Meteora. We set off on a four-hour group hike, following a route that highlighted the area’s natural beauty and geological wonders.
After the hike, we indulged in a delicious meal featuring local, seasonal products from Western Thessaly producers, as part of our commitment to supporting the local economy and reducing our environmental footprint. This was generously provided by Trekking Hellas West Thessaly.
The day concluded with the official group dinner and the traditional New Year’s cake cutting at Polyzos Restaurant in Kalambaka. As always, the lucky ones who found the golden coins in their slices were rewarded with exciting gifts. This year’s prizes included a tent, sleeping bag, and backpack, generously donated by POLO Center, a spot at the Summer Youth Camp at Lake Tsivlou, offered by The North Face and Trekking Hellas Achaea, and a backpack from The North Face, also a generous gift from Trekking Hellas Achaea.
Day 3 – Friday, February 14, 2025: Adventure & Culture
The final day featured visits to key sites and free time for exploration. We began at the Meteora Digital Projection Center for History & Culture, followed by visits to the Natural History & Mushroom Museum for some, while others enjoyed a leisurely stroll around Meteora.
A big thank you to Trekking Hellas Achaea and POLO Center for the gifts, as well as to all our partners and local producers who contributed to making this meeting so special.
