Geography 🗺️

Archaeological excavations have uncovered pottery, statues, and tools from the 10th century BC. During the Venetian rule, the island flourished, becoming a significant player in the Cyclades. Under Turkish rule, Schinoussa became a haven for pirates. The decline in the 20th century led to emigration, but today, around 200 inhabitants continue to preserve the island's heritage through fishing, agriculture, and cultural endeavors.
