Accommodation - Meals
Accommodation is in mountain refuges, in rooms with bunk beds, with half board (breakfast and dinner).
One night will be spent in a hotel, in triple or quadruple rooms with bathroom and breakfast.
The shelters have toilets (some have showers) and charging sockets.
Also at the refuges we can buy some snacks for the hours we will be moving along the via ferrata, and arriving usually at noon at the overnight shelter, we can also eat our lunch (not included).
Transportation
Local commuting will be done with a 9-seat minivan and a 5-seat SUV. Airfare is included in the price and the final confirmation window is 2 months prior to departure, therefore reservations must be finalized no later than 05 June.
Those who do not finalize their participation by then, and if there are still unreserved beds in the shelters, will be able to book by taking out an individual air ticket with the corresponding price differential.
Program Modifications
The programme chaperones have the discretion to modify the programme if weather or other local conditions (strikes, political unrest, etc.) require it, with the main criterion being the smooth progress of the programme and the safety of the participants. Any extra costs arising from such changes (for example, accommodation in a different accommodation from that booked) will be covered by the participants.
Climate
The climate in the Dolomites is generally better than the rest of the Alps, with less rainfall.
The summer months have temperatures of 10 - 25 °C, with 1/3 of the days each month being rainy.
At higher altitudes it is often quite windy, causing the relative temperature to drop dramatically, perhaps to near zero.
Hygiene, Safety, and Insurance
The cost of the trip includes helicopter rescue insurance in case of an unexpected incident in the mountains.
However, travel insurance is not included, which if you wish you will have to book it yourself.
In the link below you can see our own proposed insurance plan, the benefits of the available packages and contact our insurance advisor to answer your questions about the Travel Insurance coverages from Trekking Hellas .
You can of course also book any other travel insurance of your choice.
It is recommended that those taking part in trips or outdoor activities, especially when they are implemented in areas with poor access to health services, attend a first aid course.
Each participant should carry their own personal first-aid kit, for the recommended contents of which see the relevant paragraph.
