Overview

Kenya and Tanzania are home to some of the world's most famous wildlife sanctuaries, having established a regime of legal protection for wildlife and having developed a new economic activity based on tourist wildlife observation programs. In the past, both indigenous Maasai herders who lived and hunted in the same habitats as wild animals, and the organization of early wildlife hunting safaris had a significant impact on animal numbers.

Today there is a different model of economic activity based on tourism and the high fees charged both to visitors to enter the national parks and to the accommodation installed in or around the parks.

The result is now visible to an amazing extent, a huge open air zoo, with huge numbers of wild animals roaming freely in the savannahs, following climatic fluctuations and the rainy season.

The price of this policy is that the cost of participating in a safari is quite to very high, but the result is beyond all expectations.

With this program, we visit three of Africa's most important national parks, dedicating 1 or 2 days  to the unique Maasai Mara, 1 or 2 days to the unbeatable Serengeti and concluding with the magical Ngorongoro, Noah's living ark.

A perpetual migration is observed between these three parks, starting with zebras in January to March, when the calving period begins, followed by gazelles and wildebeests in the summer months, July and August. Especially the crossings of the Grumeti &Mara rivers, which start in July, are a famous attraction as crocodiles and other predators wait for the animals at the crossings.

The program is offered both as a semi guide for 2 or more people, as well as as a guided guide for small or larger groups, on open dates. It is also offered as either a 6-day or an 8-day safari

Activities / Schedule

Flight to Nairobi

Flight via stopover with various airline options. Depending on the arrival time in Nairobi, we either depart immediately for the safari (if the arrival is early in the morning), or we are transferred for an overnight stay in a hotel.

Throughout the duration of the program, 4 accommodation categories are offered, standard, comfort, exclusive and premium, which translate into corresponding charges, as you can see below.

Nairobi – Maasai Mara National Reserve

Early in the morning we depart with the special car, for the Maasai Mara National Wildlife Park. The car is specially designed with an opening pop up roof, which allows unobstructed observation of wildlife.

The park is one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives relatively undisturbed, in numbers it has always been there and roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern end of Serengeti's other vast ecosystem, the Mara is home to the impressive seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeests and zebras with their accompanying predators. We arrive after 5 hours of driving, in time for lunch and then an afternoon safari by car follows. Return in the evening to the camp or lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Safari in Maasai Mara

Day dedicated to Maasai Mara with flexible schedule and unlimited mileage. After breakfast, we depart for an all-day wandering taking lunch with us. The park is known for its black lion hospitality, as well as its abundant wildlife, and is one of the few places where you can see the big five (African elephant, lion, leopard, rhinoceros, and African buffalo) during a single morning game.

Many of the cheetahs are so tame that they seek shelter from the scorching sun under one's vehicle, and several even climb the roof to get a better view of prospective prey. For bird lovers, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these 16 species of eagles, plus many hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 birds (including the largest flying bird in the world, Kori) and 9 species of sunflowers. Dinner and overnight stay at the same accommodation.

Maasai Mara – Serengeti

After breakfast, we depart for the exit from the park, while at the same time we look for animals to move or interact, as the park has no borders.

After the border formalities we enter  Tanzania and head to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. It will be a long 6-hour driving day, but playing in and out of the parks can be surprisingly incredible. Arrival at Serengeti and overnight at a camp or lodge.

Safari in Serengeti

Day dedicated to Serengeti with flexible schedule and unlimited kilometers. Serengeti in Swahili means "endless plains", an image well observed from the top of Naabi Hill (or even better flying in a hot air balloon), as far as our eyes can see.

The park has an area of 18,000 sq. m. Km. It is inhabited by more than 2 million large animals, including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles. Large predators, such as lions, cheetahs and hyenas, are attracted to the area by this abundance of prey that migrates throughout the park. Many smaller animals such as the rock rabbit, bat-eared foxes, mongoose, badger, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares also inhabit the area along with nearly 500 species of birds.

On the way there will be a stop at the famous Olduvai Gorge, where Dr Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the first man to walk the earth 3 million years ago. years, and is considered one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world. After attending a short lecture describing the archaeological excavations and the geology of the gorge, you will have time to visit the small museum. Afternoon game driving on the way to camping. Dinner and overnight stay at the same or similar other accommodation.

Serengeti – Ngorongoro

The day's program begins with a very early awakening for a safari before breakfast in order to observe the animals when they are most active before the day warms up and also to observe an imaginary sunrise in front of you. The sunrise on the African savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. After driving the game, return to camp for lunch. In the afternoon, a 4-hour road ride to Ngorongoro, the world's 8th natural wonder. With a crater 700 m high and a floor stretching for 264 sq. m. Km. The crater is an iconic Noah's Ark, inhabited by almost all of its wildlife species in East Africa, including the rare black rhino.

In fact, the crater has the largest concentration of wildlife on the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, an alkaline lake that, from the top of the crater looks like fog, full of flamingos, forest and open plains. The large elephants that inhabit here have an extremely large tusk, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. They are the most incredible elephants you will ever see in your life.

Safari in Ngorongoro - Arusha

We'll start the day very early and head down to the bottom of the crater for an incredible morning wildlife watching safari in one of the most amazing places on Earth. After the observation and photo shoot game, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful hippopotamus lake. After lunch, we will have time for a short play run and then climb up the crater and exit the Ngorongoro conservation area towards Arusha.

The drive lasts 4 hours with an expected arrival time in Arusha around 5 pm, but there is the flexibility in case we need to catch a flight, to speed up the arrival time. End of program.

If the flight has a departure time in the morning of the next day, then the overnight stay can be done in one of the following
