On your first day you will enjoy your rafting experience   at the banks of Lousios river, where Zeus the father of Olympian gods bathed after his birth, according to Pausanias the Greek traveler and geographer of the 2nd century AD.

A 2nd degree of difficulty rafting descent in the river’s crystal clear waters, inside a spectacular densely vegetated gorge.

Discover the hidden natural wonders of the area, starting from Lousios, continuing to Alfios River, and ending to the spectacular bridge of “Koukos”.

Total duration of the activity: about 5 hours.

The whole process lasts about 5 hours.

Initially you will be given your wet suits and equipment. We then drive to the starting point of the descent where the rafting guides give you a short lesson on safety and paddling. The descent lasts about 2 hours with various stops to admire nature and play! We end to the spectacular Koukos bridge from where we walk to the stunning waterfall of Vrondos.

Overnight in Stemnitsa in a traditional guesthouse.

After our wonderful homemade breakfast we will drive to the starting point for today’s hike.

A hike into untouched nature following the path of history.

We walk in trails parallel and through Lousios river gorge, also known as the “Mount Athos of the Peloponnese”, on account of the monasteries that appear to be literally hanging from the cliffs. We visit the most historical monasteries and end the trek at the archaeological site of Ancient Gortyna, along the rushing Lousios river that used to be named Gortynios in the ancient times.
