Gerakina Gorge is located very close to Athens, in the region of Schinos, just an hour away from the city center. In most months it is completely dry, without water, so it is ideal for those who want to try canyoning experience for the first time! Most of the descents are relatively high and almost consecutive, with some narrow and impressive passages. During our descent we enjoy an unobstructed view of the Corinthian Sea! The canyon is 1,100 meters long, while the altitude difference amounts to about 350 meters.
Starting our canyoning trip we hike for about an hour until we reach the entrance of the gorge. Then we attend a 20′ training course, where we are informed about abseiling techniques and safety rules and we are ready for action!
In most months it is completely dry (no water) and is ideal for those who want to experience canyoning even for the first time, especially in the winter season due to the lack of water.
