Campania is the gateway to southern Italy: from Naples and its Roman ruins to the famous Amalfi Coast. However, the region's great "secret" lies south of Salerno, just beyond the impressive Greek temples of Paestum: Cilento, now a National Park and UNESCO site, is considered one of the most authentic parts of Southern Italy.
The Cilento coastline is rocky, with crystal clear waters, small coves, pine forests that reach the sea, and medieval villages and fishing villages where traditional life remains alive. On this sea kayaking route, we will visit Scario, Marina di Camerota, the protected marine park of Costa degli Infreschi, and finish in Palinuro, paddling along one of the most beautiful coasts of the Cilento National Park.
This is an easy route that does not require previous sea kayaking experience, but good physical condition is necessary. Average net paddling time per day is approximately 4 hours.
Highlights
Arrival at Naples airport and transfer by private bus to the entrance of the beautiful village of Scario (south coast of the Cilento National Park). Meet the team and the kayak guide: briefing, introduction to the equipment, basic instructions, and a short introductory trip. Then a leisurely stroll to the port of Scario and dinner at the hotel.

Kayaking along the Costa degli Infreschi, an almost untouched coastline and protected marine area. We pass Scario and beaches, arriving at a medieval observatory that marks the beginning of the most unspoiled area of the region (also known for its clear waters). Stop for swimming, snorkeling, visiting a cave and – optionally – climbing up to the watchtower for the view. We continue to the impressive Marcellino beach, with a hidden little restaurant for lunch. Time for relaxation/swimming and return to Scario. Those who do not want to row back can optionally return by private boat.

Today we will cover the longest distance. We will head towards Marcellino (optional boat transfer) for a short break/coffee and swimming. We continue to Porto degli Infreschi, a natural harbor with a freshwater spring inside a cave, where we will enter with our kayaks. Stop for swimming and lunch on the beach. In the afternoon, we paddle alongside some of Italy's most beautiful beaches, Cala Bianca and Cala Pozzallo (stop for a drink at a small, picturesque bar), before arriving at Marina di Camerota. Arrival, walk around the village and check-in at the hotel.

Today we combine kayaking and coastal hiking. We start from the port of Marina di Camerota and head to Pozzallo beach for coffee. Then, wearing hiking boots, we follow the ancient path that connects Marina di Camerota with Porto degli Infreschi (about 1 hour) with excellent views. We stop at a small country restaurant above the beach for local cuisine and return to Pozzallo, where we left the kayaks, to paddle back to Marina di Camerota. The evening is free for dinner in town.

We row westward between sandy beaches and rocky outcrops. Passages with spectacular cliffs. We pass by Arco Naturale (an impressive rock formation), stop near Grotta delle Ossa, and continue to Marinella beach for a snack/drink. This is followed by a stop at the beautiful Spiaggia del Buondormire and then the most impressive part: the circumnavigation of Cape Palinuro, under imposing limestone cliffs, with a visit to Grotta Azzurra (and other sea caves). Arrival at the port of Palinuro, disembarkation on the sandy beach and check-in at the hotel. Optional visit to the small archaeological museum of the area.

This excursion is suitable for those with little to no experience in sea kayaking. The guides/instructors will help you learn a new activity or develop existing knowledge and techniques.
Swimming skills are required.

Breakfast is included in all accommodations. Also included are 2 dinners where indicated, as well as 1 meal at a small beach restaurant. On the other days, there is a choice of a picnic on the beach or lunch at small traditional restaurants.
Private transportation from Naples airport to Scario on the 1st day and from Palinuro to Naples airport on the 6th day is included, as well as luggage transportation* throughout the trip.
During the 4-day sea kayaking trip, we will travel exclusively by sea kayak.
For those who want to paddle less, 2 boat transfers are included, for optional use, on the 2nd and 3rd days.
*Important information regarding baggage transport: One piece of baggage per person is allowed, which must not exceed 20 kg in total weight and 155 cm (65x50x40 cm) in size. If your baggage is significantly larger or heavier, its transport may not be guaranteed.
European citizens do not require a visa to enter Italy for tourism purposes. Entry into the country is permitted with a valid passport that is valid at least until the date of departure from the country or with an identity card bearing Latin characters.
Our Trekking Hellas guide or local guide has the discretion to modify the program if weather or other local conditions (strikes, political unrest, etc.) require it, with the main criteria being the smooth running of the program and the safety of participants. Any extra costs arising from such changes are covered by the participants.
