Our Management
Trekking Hellas was led by our beloved founder and CEO, Michael Tsoukias, from 1986 until his passing in March 2020 due to COVID-19. Upholding the company's founding principles, Stefanos Sidiropoulos, along with a blend of experienced, loyal colleagues and dynamic young members, continues to carry forward the vision of Trekking Hellas.
When I first visited Nepal, in the 80ties, as the leader of the first Greek Himalayan expedition I was surprised to find out that my country had many places as remote and authentic as Nepal and so the idea of creating a travel company that would promote Greece off the beaten path to foreigners, was conceived and the next year realized. Many years have gone since then and thousands of happy people from all over the world have visited places in Greece that they had never imagined before. From almost all of them I still hear the same comment: we never imagined that Greece is such a mountainous country with such wild and remote places. And I am also still amazed with the places I discover, either on foot, in a kayak or abseiling in a canyon, which combined with lots of history, real smiling and inviting people make the perfect combination of great trips – trips of a life time. I am also on the same life time trip and I am making sure that you will enjoy it as well – it’s a promise.
As a co-founder of Trekking Hellas together with Michalis Tsoukias since 1986, I discovered the perfect excuse to be constantly out in nature. Since then, I found myself countless times in hidden corners of Greece, peaks, gorges, remote beaches, scarcely visited forests and villages away from crowds. I also did many trips to other countries, hiked beautiful high mountains of the Himalayas, Andes and Antarctica, deserts and volcanoes, savannas and important ancient civilizations sites. I do not do well with new technologies, being a field man and not a keyboard one! As the head of the Outgoing Department, I have the opportunity to live each trip three times: One when I design it, a second one when I accompany it and finally a third one when I organize the photos I bring back and think how to make it better!
My involvement in outdoor activities was not at all accidental. It started through my spontaneous urge to live and act in the natural environment. However an organized plan of actions and the necessary (in conditions of long-term planning) element of patience where needed in order to accomplish my goal. Few people are lucky to be able to turn their “hobby» into their profession and I am pleased to be one of them. Now as a Deputy CEO of the company with the strongest network and the greatest experience in outdoor activities I set a new goal; To bring Greece to the spotlight through our uniquely designed products. Unique because they are adventures we wanted to create. My goal is to give prominence to the close relationship between tourism, culture, the natural environment and local productivity through outdoor activities, while always respecting the principles of sustainability. Always keeping up with the latest developments in the field of adventure travel, I make sure that our programs are adjusted to the latest trends of the industry. Therefore I aim to design comfortable journeys for active people addressing small groups for big adventures!
Μy happiness comes from travelling or planning for a travel, for me or for others… Lucky enough, I have traveled for work and pleasure extensively in Greece and abroad. I am one of those blessed people that have the best “job” in the world! Background-wise I have over 20 years in tourism industry…but who’s counting?... Travel, sports, adventure but also planning and organization enthusiast, I love the Cycladic beaches yet the mythical Greek mountains are always calling, and I always go…
I like the open spaces, the diversity in the landscapes and people, I love hiking, swimming, rafting and the trips to not crowded places in Greece and abroad. Former Head of the Operations Department, now I take care of the communication of the company by phone and via email, as well as of the assurance of the quality of the provided services and the relations with the suppliers and partners, and also of the proper office operation. My guide for everything, the love and respect for nature and man.
Born in Florida and living in Athens Greece, I studied tourism management in the university of Kurt Bosh in Sion. While travelling and meeting new people, I realize how little I know about life. Therefore, I am always fascinated in new stories and adventures. Being an outdoor activity enthusiast, I found that Trekking Hellas fulfilled my interests, by sharing with the world the hidden treasures of nature that Greece has to offer. Greek-German mother of three teenagers, married to a jazz vinyl collector and the youngest of five siblings dispatched to three continents. Previously account executive of a major multinational in a completely different business sector for more than 17 years, I decided to “jump off the corporate ship” and follow my passion: Trips, nature, kids! Profoundly admiring the nature and a big fan of the mountains and the hiking, I am designing inspiring adventure trips for young travelers and their families as a member of the Trekking Hellas team!
Traveling is my passion and I love helping those who want to arrange their dream vacation. I am graduate of the Tourism Business Administration of the University of West Attica University and holder of a master's degree in Travel Marketing & Management and with experience in the field since 2008, I am the right person to help you plan your next trip. I love nature, animals and the sea, for me the ideal place to relax. My favorite motto "you know nothing about tomorrow, so enjoy today".
Born in Athens Greece, but quickly realized I am a citizen of the world. Hence I studied Social Anthropology in Greece and then Tourism Development in UK as I always wanted to combine my main two passions: travelling the world and meeting people. Having lived and worked abroad for 7 years (UK and Switzerland) and travelled in more than 45 countries, I decided to return back home to discover and share the off the beaten track corners of my home country. Ending up at Trekking Hellas was therefore to be expected and I consider myself lucky to be able to make my work what I like most. I got to know Trekking Hellas in 1994 as a client, participating in various outdoor activities. Given my studies and professional experience in organizing multi-day trips, conference tourism and corporate team building events and my enthusiasm for Trekking Hellas, I am a member of this beautiful and dynamic team for many years now! It is really my pleasure to share my love for nature, the sea, whilst at the same time I make sure everything is well organized and on time, so that customers and partners are always happy.
I was curious about the world ever since I was a kid growing up in Athens. I've always had a passion for exploring and creativity, and I'm lucky enough to be able to incorporate that into my work at Trekking Hellas.
With a background in digital communication and marketing, I love finding creative ways to answer to our audience's needs and desires. When I'm not working, you can usually find me exploring the great outdoors, hiking with my dog or getting lost in a new city. I believe that every experience is an opportunity to learn and grow, and I'm always seeking out new adventures to add to my story.
Mountain to sea, combining photo and video art with music, I record and share the unique experiences our guests are invited to enjoy.
