This is a truly authentic experience in a small village in the mountains of Crete where the inhabitants engage in agriculture and livestock. The climate and its unspoiled springs help to fertilize many plantations, offering unaltered goods such as chestnuts, walnuts, apples, kiwi and many other fruits and vegetables depending on the season. Somewhere between the hills of this village is located Elenis family restaurant, which has been operating for over a hundred years from generation to generation. In this idyllic place that is an extension of their farm, they offer unique culinary experiences as they cook with pure and seasonal ingredients from our homestead.
Our day starts from the city of Chania driving through mountainous landscapes with amazing views we arrive after about 1 hour to the village of Sebronas.
Eleni will welcome us and walk with us to the ancient vineyard on a hill with a stunning view! While exploring, she explains the process of vineyard care, the stages of wine and raki productions and any other questions we may have. We continue the walk through olive groves and chestnut trees, to arrive at the restaurant. There we will have the chance to taste all the ingredients that make up the Cretan diet from the ancient years to the present. Local delicacies as various cheeses, olives, honeycombs, fresh vegetables, fruits and certainly raki and wine!
